Group Analysis is a powerful therapeutic medium that focuses on the relationship between the individual and the group, emphasising the social nature of human experience.
The course is an advanced introduction to the theory and practice of group work in forensic settings and can lead to Group Work Practitioner Status and Associate IGA membership. It is also a necessary part of the full training as a Group Analyst.
The course offers a blend of in-person and on-line group experiences.
Entry requirements:
IGA Foundation Course or equivalent training o Degree or entry essay o A group within a forensic setting to bring to Work Reflection Group (WRG) agreed with the Course Convenor.
Attendance at a course interview with Convenor and a personal consultation meeting with a Training Group Analyst.
The course runs over 10 block weekends from Sept 2025 to July 2026 on Friday afternoon 3pm through to Sunday afternoon 3.30pm.

Large Group meetings comprised of current Foundation and Diploma students along with former Turvey courses graduates, is convened online, usually on the third Friday of each month 7pm-8.30pm.
National Learning Experience A three-day event providing an opportunity to explore some area of the curriculum in greater depth and an experience of working together in various groups with students from across the country.

Assessment 2 essays - 1 theoretical, 1 reflective practice
