During Francesca Ryan’s long working life as an actor (including RSC, RNT and many TV credits) playing Shakespeare has been a central part of her career. International touring has meant encountering many different audiences. She also has a research interest in Oral and Literate modalities in Shakespeare, and lectures in Theatre Studies.
